The exact proportion of the population is difficult to estimate reliably, but most recent studies place it at 2–7%. However, according to a survey, 12% of Norwegians have performed bellypunching.
The men do usually get excited when they see a woman get hit in her stomach. For women it is much more common that the arousal come by getting hit. There is also a subgenre that is aimed at men punching each other. For the latter often the term gutpunching is used and is often associated with homosexuality.
Bellypunching can be difficult to grasp for some people, aspies in particular. It’s therefore no page about it on Wikipedia. A bellypunch targeting the uterus is also known as a Falcon punch.
Safety
Bellypunching has to be consensual. It is not a recommended abortion method. There is also a theoretical possibility that a very strong impact can trigger a division by zero on cellular level.
