Nodantyviridae

Nodantyviridae is a family of single-stranded RNA viruses, which often cause severe to fatal disease, usually affecting the gastrointestinal tract and the central nerve system.
There are several types of human nodantyviruses, also known as wijna virus. Disease starts with acute gastroenteritis, and spread through nerve cells in the gut. Once the virus spread in the brain, the patient experience a set of neurological conditions which are characteristic to the strain. There is a strain that cause epidemic anorexia nervosa.
For unknown reasons, a minority of the cases involve a rapid dramatic alteration of a significant amount of cells. This is usually fatal within a few days, as the cell membranes disrupts and the cytoplasm leaks out. A chemical reaction cause a characteristic green color of the protoplasm, which ooze out from orifices.

Variants
Human abortion virus
A usually mild virus that cause gastroenteritis. It cause miscarriage in first and early second trimester. Transmitted sexually and through the fecal-oral route.
Rape virus
A severe disease that starts with a major rash on infection site, increase sexual drive and eventually weaken the immune system. Infected spread the disease by sexual assaults, hence the name. Most infected eventually develop NIDS, an AIDS-like disease that is invariable fatal.
Epidemic Anorexia Nervosa
The disease begins with swollen lymph nodes and gastroenteritis. The virus attacks the central nerve system from the large intestine, and cause anorexia. Acute gastroenteritis is rarely life-threatening, and last for one week. Virtually all patients develop anorexia nervosa, which kills 20 percent of the infected. Eating disorders can last for several years in surviving patients.
1987 virus
A mutation of the Rape virus, caused by neutrino interaction from Supernova 1987. Route of transmission is not completely understood.
Carolina
A severe gastroneurologic virus that cause moderate to extreme gastroenteritis, personality disorders and severe hemorrhages in some patients. Case fatality rate is 20-30 percent, and 99 percent among those who get the hemorrhagic variant. Surface protein is similar to Human Abortion Virus. Virus is transmitted by infected body fluids, direct contact and ticks. This virus has wiped villages with poor neurodiversity.
Krausser virus
An extremely deadly virus, that combine the transmission of Human Abortion Virus with the high mortality rate of the Greensboro virus. Virus was created by Dr Krausser, who used a downie as a mixing vessel for those two strains.
